Spends: With Transaction Value
In Spends: With Transaction Value events, members must spend an amount of money in a single transaction that meets (or exceeds) the spend amount specified by the Minimum Transaction Value restriction to earn the outcomes associated with the spends rule.
Take note of the following:
-
The minimum transaction value is determined by the order subtotal, which may include taxes or other related charges such as shipping (depending upon your integration).
-
The minimum transaction value must be met or exceeded in a single transaction. For example, your brand runs a promotion where members who spend $200 or more in a single transaction during the month of May earn a 20% discount on a future purchase. A member spends $50 on May 1, $75 on May 9, $100 on May 17. These purchases do not qualify the member for the reward, since no single purchase was at least $200.
-
The Total Number of Times restriction determines how many times members can earn the reward. Suppose that the Number of Times restriction is set to 3. Using the same example, a member who spends $600 in a single transaction earns the outcome 3 times.
Core restrictions
Spends: With Transaction Value events are constrained by the restrictions listed below.
-
Minimum Transaction Value
Indicates the smallest dollar amount spent on items (and not including any taxes or other fees) in a single transaction that earns the outcome for the behavior. See Minimum Transaction Value for a detailed description.
-
Total Number of Times
Indicates how many times that members can earn the outcome. See Total Number of Times for a detailed description.
Ancillary restrictions
The following ancillary restrictions further constrain Spends: With Transaction Value events.
Example
A quick service restaurant runs a “20 by 5” promotion for the month of May. Members who complete 5 transactions with a minimum value of $20 earn the outcome of a 30% discount in the month of June.
